Al-Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University strives to achieve the ultimate objectives and goals of the Kingdom’s development plan.

From this perspective, it deems the necessity of coping with the technology era by introducing modern and specialized academic programs that meet the growing needs for the Information Technology development in the kingdom.

In order to align with this vision, the Council of Higher Education has issued the approval (No. 11/04/1419, 11th session, dated 8/6/1998) for the establishment of the Computer and Information Systems Department in the College of Social Sciences.

The department has begun teaching its program in the first semester of the academic year 1999-2000.

Scope Of Work

This project at Imam University was designed to significantly enhance IT service delivery and operational efficiency.

It involved the automation of core IT Service Management processes, including service catalogue, incident, request, problem, change, configuration, and event management.

A key component of the initiative was the integration of Microfocus tools with existing university systems to create a unified and streamlined IT environment.

Furthermore, the project encompassed the provision of customized training for Microfocus Service Manager (SM) and Operations Manager (OM), ensuring effective adoption and utilization of the new solutions by the university’s IT personnel.

Achievements & Deliverables

This project successfully automated Imam University's core ITSM processes (service catalogue, incident, request, problem, change, configuration, event management).
Key deliverables included integrating Microfocus tools with existing systems and providing customized training for Microfocus SM and OM, significantly enhancing IT efficiency and service delivery.
